klg_girl: Moving there soon

Hi, I am going to be moving to GJ in the coming months and I am trying to find out how friendly the city is etc. I am coming from South Carolina where I have been living for the past 11 years. I moved here from Boulder/Nederland so I am ok with any altitude and cold weather. I am in my mid 30's and while I am no spring chicken, I still like to get out and about at times.

shmarollynn: What to do?

I'm going to be home for the holidays to visit the fam, and I'm wondering what all the kids are doing in GJ these days. I haven't been home since last Christmas, so is there anything new that I should know about? Any good bars/breweries or, dare I hope, cool clubs? I don't want to hang out at Old C the whole time I'm there.

shmarollynn: Hold up!

There's an LJ community dedicated to the Junc? Wow.

Born and raised in GJ, graduated from GJHS, left for University and will likely not return for a long, long time. (To live, that is.) There's no way I could get a decent job there in my field.

Miss the mountain biking, and the Monument; sooo purty. Don't miss the night life.

shadowswitness: Ltle bit about jobs and housing

Its a nice town and houses are plentyful here. They just keep building. Work is a whole different story though. Depends on what you are looking for in a job. Since School just started a lot of jobs have been taken. But let me know what you are interested in and I will see what I can find for you.

abc760soup: Livewell Goodness

wtf, mate? ^_^?

Hey there folks. I just got my info about http://www.livewell.org. I would post the linkage with the a href and all, but I set my settings on italian and too lazy to set them back and restart my comp. :\. See? It took me a ton of effort just to figure that out.

So anyways, anyone else part of the livewell program mesa community is putting on? I'll be there on the opening day on Sept. 1st. Uhm. Yay?

shadowswitness: Town O fun or something

So you are new to Grand Junction eh? I have lived here for 13 years now. So maybe I can help you out in what you want to know about the town.

First post in this community. Truly, I just moved to Grand Junction, Colorado very recently, and frankly, I am having a hard time getting to know the town all that well. Sure I know the roads, where stuff is, etc. schmutcetera...yet I don't know the town.

So in order to vent out some of that, I made an online journal community as I noticed...Grand Junction doesn't have a community.

So I guess it now does.
